FIND OUT WHAT ELSE IS GOING ON

 Amazing Locals!

Looking for a way to spread your Holiday spirit? Do we have the spots for you! We’ve collected a few LOCAL shops that we thought were perfect for your holiday gift giving or self giving activities. And while being conscious of travel during this pandemic, what better way than to shop locally?

Want to read more? We love Black Garnet books! Locally owned and operated! Although the store front is currently closed, their online life is thriving! Feel free to check out their extensive collection of Adult and YA contemporary work by Black and racially-diverse authors! Their goal is to give everyone the opportunity to read up and try out underrepresented voices and stores! They do have a few pop-up shops here and there so make sure to keep an eye out for their updates!

Maybe Herbs and Oils are more your style! And oh do we have the place for you! Present Moment is one of the largest herb and homeopathic retailers in the U.S. but resides right here in our own Uptown! They have essential oils, aromatherapy items, and flower essences, the list goes on, oh me oh my! Not only all THAT amazingness but, if you’re looking for a bit more research, they offer a wide variety of books to get you started or to fine tune your interests! Definitely check out their website to learn more about them!

COVID got you down? More Masks on your mind? Check out HackWith Design House! They have amazing designs that we love and, again, you guessed it, they are locally made! HackWith is a small team of seamstresses who work to create long lasting items that are versatile to many styles. Their masks are made with 100% cotton or are cotton lined, and 10% of all mask proceeds will go towards the Domestic Abuse Project. Definitely worth it to take some time to check out their amazing selection!

During your holiday shopping, lets not forget the importance of protecting our planet!  After all, what’s more important than that? ReWaved Gifts is a new  brand collective of a whole slew of sustainable items that are recycled and reuse-friendly from socks to soy candles. They’ve started a sneak peak at their stock, but the full brand release will be on Black Friday, so give them a peak! Keep up to date with their Facebook Page or Instagram!

Last but not least your favorite local one stop style shop also has some amazing things happen over here as well!

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:

It is with great respect and humility that we acknowledge that we gather and create on the traditional land of the Dakota people and the many other tribes that have stewarded it for generations.  This beautiful and often complicated city has been the ancestral home to the Dakota people, as well as a home to the Ojibwe (Anishinaabeg), Ho-Chunk, Cheyenne, Oto, Iowa, Sauk and Meskwaki people over generations.  The continual strategic disenfranchisement of the colonial settlers on the native peoples of this land have diminished but not deterred the capacity for acknowledgement of the many gifts, strengths, voices, and achievements of the indigenous people that have come before, as well as  those that remain in our communities.
