NYFW ahoy

FIND OUT WHAT ELSE IS GOING ON

Creative Director Sica Dawn has long been a fan of fashion as well as a dedicated stylist. Those two passions are crossing paths yet again! Sica flies off to New York Fashion week with the international hair organization Tearsheet Artists that they work with this week.

This is a huge honor that few stylists get to experience, so we’re all very proud of them!

Sica’s not just styling behind the scenes. Our salon’s Creative Director is taking on the role of Lead Stylist at the American Heart Association’s “Go Red For Women” event. Kicking off NYFW, this celebrity event features couture looks on award-winning talent. Most importantly, it brings awareness to the plight of a variety of cardiovascular diseases faced by women.

Giving back is a huge focus for our salon. Because of this focus, taking this work on the road is such a huge accomplishment.

In addition to celebrity events, Sica is working alongside industry leaders at NYFW. This internationally attended exploration of art and design happens twice a year, and each year is different. Sica can’t wait to bring some of that hair magic back to the salon!

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:

It is with great respect and humility that we acknowledge that we gather and create on the traditional land of the Dakota people and the many other tribes that have stewarded it for generations.  This beautiful and often complicated city has been the ancestral home to the Dakota people, as well as a home to the Ojibwe (Anishinaabeg), Ho-Chunk, Cheyenne, Oto, Iowa, Sauk and Meskwaki people over generations.  The continual strategic disenfranchisement of the colonial settlers on the native peoples of this land have diminished but not deterred the capacity for acknowledgement of the many gifts, strengths, voices, and achievements of the indigenous people that have come before, as well as  those that remain in our communities.
