FIND OUT WHAT ELSE IS GOING ON

Cruelty-free, vegan, and easily recyclable products are just hippie bait and never work.

JUST KIDDING!

If you know the crew at Fox Den Salon, you know that we LOVE finding ways to keep our flora and fauna thriving, but when it comes to products, it only makes sense if the products actually work on hair, and our buddies at amika don’t let us down.

Velveteen Dream is one of our absolutely favorite sneaky products that are free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, and petrolatum, and have great things like:

Sea Buckthorn: One of the most potent natural ingredients on the planet, this “superfruit” is one of the few known plant sources of the fatty-acid omega 7 typically found in fish oil. It’s also rich in vitamin C + A and contains antioxidants making it the ultimate holy grail ingredient for hair and scalp.

Aloe Barbadensis: Also known as aloe vera, the juice is extracted from the leaves of the plant aloe. Some of the benefits? Aloe vera contains something called proteolytic enzymes which repairs dead skin cells on the scalp, leaving the hair smooth and shiny.

Provitamin B5: Also known as panthenol, provitamin B5 is a member of the powerful B-complex vitamin family. It works in combination with other nutrients to rebuild the individual hair shafts, which are often damaged by blow-driers or heated hair tools, by shampooing too often or by sun exposure.

These two work as a great pair with time-released humidity protection for silky, frizz-free hair, and you can up their control by adding the Velveteen Dream Smoothing Balm as a leave-in, and finishing with the Sheild!

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:

It is with great respect and humility that we acknowledge that we gather and create on the traditional land of the Dakota people and the many other tribes that have stewarded it for generations.  This beautiful and often complicated city has been the ancestral home to the Dakota people, as well as a home to the Ojibwe (Anishinaabeg), Ho-Chunk, Cheyenne, Oto, Iowa, Sauk and Meskwaki people over generations.  The continual strategic disenfranchisement of the colonial settlers on the native peoples of this land have diminished but not deterred the capacity for acknowledgement of the many gifts, strengths, voices, and achievements of the indigenous people that have come before, as well as  those that remain in our communities.
