Fox Den Salon
GIVING BACK AT NYFW
FIND OUT WHAT ELSE IS GOING ON
Wednesday Feb 5, 2020 Fox Den Salon Stylist and Creative Director Sica Dawn will be working with the American Heart Association for their celebrity couture fashion show, the annual “Red Dress Event”, to support awareness among women about heart issues. Last year Sica Dawn was lead-stylist to the show which featured celebrities like Susan Lucci, Bo Derek, headlining musical guest Eve and spokesperson Padma Lakshmi, however each year’s celebrity attendees are kept secret until the event. In Sica’s third year working at this event with the event’s exclusive hair provider, the Tearsheet Artistic Team, they can’t wait to provide amazing styles for caring celebrities and give back in a big way.
As in past years, this year’s event will feature international celebrities from sports, music, and entertainment wearing couture gowns created by top designers
The American Heart Association uses it’s Go Red for Women campaign to bring awareness to cardiovascular disease, the No. 1 killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year. That’s approximately one woman every minute! While nearly 80 percent of cardiac events can be prevented, cardiovascular diseases continue to be a woman’s greatest health threat, taking more lives than all forms of cancer combined

Sica Dawn has long been an advocate for bringing awareness and raising money for local and national causes as the owner of Fox Den Salon, which regularly donates services, products, time and energy to causes close to their hearts. Taking time away from the salon clients to donate their time and skills to this major celebrity event, the largest Go Red event in the country with thousands of attendees and millions watching online, was an easy choice for this salon owner, as a close relative has been living with Congestive Heart Failure for several years.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:
It is with great respect and humility that we acknowledge that we gather and create on the traditional land of the Dakota people and the many other tribes that have stewarded it for generations. This beautiful and often complicated city has been the ancestral home to the Dakota people, as well as a home to the Ojibwe (Anishinaabeg), Ho-Chunk, Cheyenne, Oto, Iowa, Sauk and Meskwaki people over generations. The continual strategic disenfranchisement of the colonial settlers on the native peoples of this land have diminished but not deterred the capacity for acknowledgement of the many gifts, strengths, voices, and achievements of the indigenous people that have come before, as well as those that remain in our communities.
