Promising Excellence

OUR STYLISTS

Fox Den Salon began in 2007 as an independently owned 5 chair hair salon in the Lowry Hill East Neighborhood (or simply “the Wedge”), just north of Uptown. In 2017 the salon expanded to include Fox Den Salon: Hennepin, as well as in 2019 when the salon expanded again to include Fox Den Salon: Lake Street, which involved, unfortunately, closing the original Lyndale location.

Our stylists have a passion for creating a great experience for their clients, and welcome people of all ages, backgrounds, and hair types. They also participate in numerous events to support their local communities and several charitable causes, and feature eco-friendly hair care products that are sulfate free, organic, have low carbon foot prints and contain sustainable ingredients.

We work hard to be good people, doing great hair.

SICA DAWN

STYLIST/CREATIVE DIRECTOR

LAKE STREET

For over a decade Sica has focused her professional efforts not only on her own success, but also on collaborations with other stylists and artists from the Twin Cities, opening Fox Den in 2007 as a way to bring progressive, sustainable, and attainable beauty to her neighborhood. She is constantly working to stay ahead of the cutting-edge in fashion, form and design through local training and events, large training programs, brand partnerships and completing multiple prestigious programs such as HAIR:MASTERED with Sam McKnight, and training with the peerless powerhouse of education, Vivienne Mackinder, Tearsheets Artists and Bangstyle in LA, and DJ RIggs and Berry Bachen of Maintentrance Artists in NYC.

Anyways, all credentials aside, she’s a complete hair nerd and we all get it, but she’s also pretty chill and loves helping people be the best version of themselves.

HANNAH FELICE

STYLIST/MANAGER

HENNEPIN

Hannah has accomplished a lot in the seven years she’s been in the beauty industry – from multiple runway collections and doing hair for Fashion Week Minnesota (#FWMN) to creating a reputation for being a science geek behind the chair. Hannah enjoys creating texture, building volume in fine locks and taking on extensive “hair projects”.
She’s delved into the world of avant-garde hair and make-up, exploring the realm of styles beyond simple cuts and colors, participated in a number of hair-centric art shows and competitions all while maintaining a successful career behind the chair. Hannah believes continuing education classes need to be a priority for all stylists and attends as many industry events as she can, ensuring her skills always remain sharp and trends on point.

AUDRA KINNEY

STYLIST/MANAGER

LAKE STREET

Never one to settle, she is always on the lookout for ways to strengthen her creative muscles, working on events for Fashion Week Minneapolis (#FWMN) and Project Runway, styling and assisting for photoshoots, including local fashion luminary (and former Project Runway contestant) Danielle Everine, and working as the salon’s Bridal Services Coordinator.
The drive that Audra has for excellence in everything she does is unmatched (seriously, even her leftovers that she brings for lunch are better than most regular dinners), but the areas that she truly shines in are when she is unleashed with her palate of rainbow colors, or performing one of her well thought out color corrections. From fades and beards to baby-bangs and blow-outs, she does nothing but continue to evolve and improve, taking in feedback with poise and creating lasting relationships with clients from all walks of life. Everything Audra does confirms her commitment to constantly pushing herself because that’s just who she is: an all-around badass babe!

CLAIRE SYKORA

STYLIST

LAKE STREET

Are you ready for a style that defies gravity? Fantasy colors? Pieced out, shattered looks? Then Claire’s your girl! In addition to the day-to-day wearable styles she can achieve, Claire loves working on cosplay hair for her fellow geeks on their way to events and cons. A pro at directing her supreme fandom to hair, she rocks color theory, extensions, and styling, and helping people feel as good on the outside as they are awesome on the inside.

While hair play is tons of fun, Claire is serious about education, studying under celebrity hairstylist Nick Arrojo from TLC’s “What Not to Wear”, on location in Australian to learn from stylists and product creators, and taking the experiences from her many travels and exploring foreign cultures and trends. So, let’s get nerdy creating some awesome colors together, and let Claire design something for your unique personal style.

ERICA CUELLAR

STYLIST

LAKE STREET

Erica has spent most of her life discovering herself artistically. Growing up in a household full of artists, musicians, and crafters, she spent most of her time learning various instruments, sewing, and how to craft her way through a wide array of projects. Having those resources, she learned that working with her hands is what she does best. She is a self-taught jeweler whose skills soared when she started working at a bead shop with like-minded artists, finding her niche working with organic materials, and developing an eye for out-of-the-box, avant-garde pieces. As she fostered her developing skills, she sought a way to take them a step further and bring her art to a more functional media: hair.

Graduating from the Aveda Institute the summer of 2017, she found her place again among like-minded artists here at The Fox Den. Her eye for jewelry has given her an eye for organic shapes, leading to an intuitive love of working with natural curls, and she can’t to bring her custom concepts of fashion colors to the masses.

REGGEI LARSON

STYLIST

LAKE STREET

Hair has been this gal’s passion for her whole life, and for over 4 years she’s been able to live that dream as a stylist in the Twin Cities! If it was required that all stylists needed a 90’s rap lyric as a tag line, hers would easily be “if you’ve got a problem, yo, I’ll solve it” as immortalized by the iconic hairstyled, Ninja Turtle homie, Vanilla Ice. Getting away from Vanilla Ice, because let’s be real, we’d be here all day, Reggei’s craft is what keeps her moving, and being on a team that can help her bring all that crazy hair wisdom she’s sitting on is pretty much the tops.

She’s got a wicked fade locked and loaded to tailor to your exact specifications, and can give you an angled bob that will grow out in a way that will make you double check if you even need to trim it because it’s still laying *just right*, or taming textures to bend to her will like an Edwardian (scissor hands, obvs) sculpture… and color? Forget about it Reggie really shines on the big projects, color corrections, complete hair color makeovers, and taking blondes from bummer brassy to platinum classy are totally where it’s at, and of course a little high light and root touch is always applied with the same precision and thought of an expert hair-doctor.

GEORGIA

STYLIST

HENNEPIN

This Bemidji native came to Minneapolis years ago with a dream in her heart and a few dollars in her pocket. Hey, Bemidji’s not for nothing (did you know that after the Grand Canyon, Paul and Babe in Bemidji is the most photographed landmark in America?), and she got some good years of styling under her belt before making her way to a major twin cities salon, and a studio salon to hone in on her craft even more. Along the way Georgia’s love for knowledge lead her to working in one of the most challenging and rewarding roles of her career: as an educator at a cosmetology school.

Her love for creative expression, eco-friendly products, extensive training in curly and textured hair and desire to challenge herself and grow in the industry brought her back behind the chair, to her home at Fox Den Salon: Hennepin! If you’re looking for someone that cares, who can work under pressure but also commiserate about everything from cooking and camping to vintage clothes and bearded dragons, Georgia is your hair soul mate. She’s got the magical product recommendation to solve every hair quandary, PLUS she can talk you through how to get that at-home-style to be identical to that just-left-the-salon vibe in a way that makes us pretty sure she is actually maybe a real life hair wizard.

ALEX

STYLIST

LAKE STREET | HENNEPIN

Alex is the queen of sparkles and everything else that’s fun & funky! Hailing from St. Paul, Minnesota, she graduated from Aveda in the summer of 2017. Alex finds her inspiration in fashion and art, as well as in each unique client she sees. She is passionate about helping people find their true selves, transforming each client into the magical being they were meant to be. She really enjoys experimenting and is always up for a challenge, which there is no shortage of opportunity for here at Fox Den Salon! Alex loves how artistic and community-centered Fox Den is, and feels it’s a good match for her loud, wild style. This former unicyclist (seriously!) spends her free time hitting up local shows and grabbing a beverage or two with close friends.

BENJAMIN

STYLIST

HENNEPIN

Meet Benjamin! This nerd has had an interesting path as a hair artist. Since entering the industry in 2013, not only has he has worked in salon, on photosets, and runways, but he has also delved into the magical world of wigs, hair, and makeup for theater, drag, and burlesque. He has worked as a wig technician at several theaters including the Guthrie Theater, Artistry Theater, and the James Sewell Ballet. In addition to wigs, Benjamin specializes in clipper cutting, curly hair, color, vintage styling, and updos. When this goofball isn’t behind the chair, he spends his time covered in glitter, singing songs, and doing a little dance with local burlesque companies across the cities under the name Misfit. Misfit is the emcee and resident lung-buster for Clothing Optional Cabaret, a troupe he co-founded!

EL STARR

STYLIST

LAKE STREET

A lifelong lover of the arts, El spent some time studying painting at U of M and UW Stout before deciding to apply her creativity to a more practical industry. She graduated from Aveda in early 2018 and started looking for her first salon home. After a brief tenure at another local salon, El decided she wasn’t ready to specialize and wanted to find somewhere that would allow her to learn an even wider array of techniques. She found Fox Den in the Fall and after apprenticing under Audra, El discovered her love for funky, artistic short cuts and the magic that is a well-done bleach and tone. El is excited to keep growing and learning in a space that encourages experimentation and individuality and hopes to keep finding clients who are as excited about trying something new as she is.

KAYLI

STYLIST

Kayli is a ray of sunshine at our Hennepin location! She’s back behind the chair after taking some time to pursue higher education, and we couldn’t be happier!

SARAH

STYLIST

HENNEPIN

Sarah graduated the Aveda Institute in the beginning of 2019, and became an apprentice under our stylist Hannah in March. She loves perfecting sleek and stylish haircuts, and is very detailed with colors. Sarah enjoys blending balayages, double process blondes, and creating unique fashion colors. During her journey as an apprentice, she’s looking forward to learning everything she can to continue growing as a stylist. When she’s not in the salon cranking out quality cuts and colors, she is spending time with her adorable cats, binge watching Netflix, or attending anime conventions. Definitely ask her about it.

ABBEY

STYLIST

LAKE STREET

Originally from Stillwater, Abbey graduated from Aveda in early 2017. Her passion for cruelty free beauty, and penchant for artistic cuts and colors led her to Fox Den, where she is excited to learn and teach as much as she can. Abbey doesn’t believe in just performing a service, she believes in education. When you sit in her chair, you can be assured that you will learn the whys and hows for everything she’s doing. She wants her clients to feel informed about and empowered by the services she provides. Abbey is hugely passionate about mental health and the importance of self-care in dealing with mental health related problems. She believes in the healing power of a positive salon experience as one step toward merging external confidence with internal self-love. When not at the salon, Abbey can be found playing video games with her husband, in the woods with her coven, or snuggling with Bilbo and Gandalf… her cats.

VICTORIA

STYLIST | ASSISTANT

LAKE STREET

Victoria is returning to us after some time away from the world “behind the chair”. She got her cat 6 years ago, and sometimes when she thinks about how much she loves the little dude it brings a tear to her eye. The only tears you’ll have after a service from her will also be tears of joy, because she’s just that good. You’ll have to wait until one of Sica’s trips out of town to get in to see her, because most of the time we’re wasting her skills on picking up all the things Sica drops, but her glassy Denman blow outs are making Sica’s clients feel like the dozens of Beyonces and Boionces they are.

GIANNI

STYLIST

HENNEPIN

After nine years in Chicago, Gianni made the decision to return home in July of 2018. Growing up among beauty professionals, she has had a passion for beauty and helping to create confidence in people for the majority of her life. After attending college and acquiring a double major in journalism and English and minor in humanities, Gianni decided to enter the hair industry. The impact her stylists have made on her life and identity, has solidified that decision as the best she’s ever made.
Gianni is an Aveda Institute Chicago graduate, has certifications in Sassoon, Prive, Kevin Murphy, and Toni & Guy in cutting. She also was previously the color educator for her former salon in Chicago and the color line Oligo.
Her passion lies in being a nerd for molecular color theory, creative color and blonding, huge color projects, everyday styling, precision cutting, and bringing your vision to life. Come talk to her about abnormal psychology, literature, music, and you!

POPPY LE FLEUR

STYLIST

LAKE STREET

Poppy is forever an art kid and lover of education. She graduated from the U of M with a degree in Art (photography & printmaking) in 2009 and Empire Beauty School in 2019. She spent a decade pretending to be a regular grown up before deciding that wasn’t going to work out. When she’s not playing with hair, she spends her time with her husband Adam and puppy Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough watching cartoons, reading about fashion, making hair accessories, cross stitching, and exploring nature for inspiration. Poppy is into big hair, fantasy colors, crazy shapes, and blondes blondes blondes!!

COLIN

FRONT DESK

Colin is super duper excited to be working at Fox Den Salon! While he is brand new to the salon industry, he was first introduced to Fox Den as a client and has been hooked on the world-class styling and overtly inclusive atmosphere ever since. Prior to salon life, Colin worked with a children’s mental health nonprofit and has a great passion for supporting under-served and marginalized youth. He moved to Minneapolis from Boston, MA where the people are friendlier and the air is much, much colder. When he isn’t chatting with clients at the front desk or giggling with his coworkers, you’re likely to find Colin at a local coffee shop, chilling at home with his lovely roommate and his beautiful cat Alfred, or performing music at open mic events around the Twin Cities area.

LAETLI

FRONT DESK

Laetli, like “how have you been lately?”

Fox Den is Laetli’s first salon experience, but she realized right away that it’s the industry she was meant for. Her background in retail and fine art merged perfectly into the unique skill set she brings to the front of the house and her work as one of Fox Den’s social media managers. Laetli has an eye for aesthetics and a passion for marketing and has excitedly tackled every task put before her. She loves working one on one with both the stylists and the clients to create the most positive salon experience possible. She believes in salon services as self-care and wants to do her part to ensure that everyone in our community feels good about making the choice to trust Fox Den with their hair therapy.

MARY

FRONT DESK

Mary is putting her experience in a call center to good use at the front desk, keeping our phone lines in order with her well crafted “phone voice”. She has been a fringe member of the Fox Den Family for over a year but made it official spring of 2018 and has been loving every minute of it. When she is not captaining the desk, she is studying to be an Esthetician, reading graphic novels, and discussing her love of cats with anyone who will listen. She is a Hufflepuff and will happily debate favorite Harry Potter books for your entire appointment.

SETH

FRONT DESK

Seth is excited to be fresh into the Fox Den experience! Having grown up in Sartell, Minnesota, life in the cities continues to provide them a sense of wonder every day, as well as a happy space to express gender and presentation. Prior to this new front desk experience, Seth has worked several different jobs and has retained niche information such as how to navigate interactions between dogs and which sock fibers are suitable for different activities. In their free time, they enjoy lounging at home with their sweet old dog, Jazzy, visiting libraries and checking out way more books than they can find the time to read.
